Description

A rare M1935 Luftwaffe two-tone sawdust camouflage bailing wire combat helmet. The helmet is an « EF64 » with a lot number of « 20212 ». The helmet's exterior retains a really nice spray camouflage over a sawdust finish in the colors of tan and dark green. The Luftwaffe decal is present, originally masked off for the first paint coating and finally it was camouflaged over with the paint finish. The Tri-color shield is present also under the paint with some light crazing present. Split pins are all intact, undisturbed and retain most of their camouflage finish. The helmet retains its original period applied bailing bailing. In the close-up photos provided below one can see the oxidation and slight interaction of the wires. The camouflage finish of the helmet shows nice use to include scuffs and scraps. Overall it still retains a high amount of finish well over 85%. The helmet retains its original liner. Supple and in a light brown color. Drawstring is absent, the liner is stamped with the size « 57 » along the tongue. Chinstrap in a brown leather color is also present, shows wear and use. The leather liner is nicely named along the side. A really nice and rather difficult to find camouflage bailing wire helmet in today's collectors market.
