M35 Waffen-SS double decal combat helmet, « untouched / as-found »
Description
A superb M1935 Waffen-SS double decal combat helmet. The helmet is an « ET62 » with a lot number of « 3868 », making it a nice early vintage example. Only just a few weeks freshly re-discovered and never before in a collection from a great colleague of ours. The helmet's exterior features the factory apple green semi matte finish. The SS decal is over 97% with beautiful toning and the slightest of scuffs. The party shield is over 98% with oxidation and toning present. In general the exterior shows some rust from improper storage over the decades. Split pins are complete, retain all their apple green paint and still tightly attached to the helmet's liner system. The interior of the helmet is in its original state and undisturbed. Leather liner is present and in rather good condition. Complete with its original drawstring and ink stamped for size along one of the tongues « 54 ». The chinstrap is original to the helmet yet broken. Dust, dirt and natural debris from decades of accumulation is present. A choice untouched and as-found example. Desirable configuration and highly sought after. A great early period Waffen-SS combat helmet !
