Description
M1938 Fallschirmjäger battle damaged double decal combat helmet in « FJR6 » camouflage. The helmet is an « ET66 » and with one of the earliest lot ranges for double decals of « 3820 ». The exterior of the helmet is in its original state and untouched. Retaining a large majority of its typical camouflage finish commonly used by the regiment in Normandy. Both the Luftwaffe decal and national colors can be seen under the camouflage finish coming through. The helmet has received what is possibly one of the worst and gruesome battle damages possible. The top back has split open and dented downwards breaking the heavy gauge steel in multiple sections. It is surprising in very steady condition with no movement The helmets interior is complete and untouched. Retains its proper and early type liner in yellow rubber padding. The early first type chinstraps are in really good condition, fully functional and pliable. Although its has a dusty appearance its in sound shape. Evidence of a good amount of mud in multiple sections all around. Debris is also present in the liner. This helmet was only recently found and has never been in a collection before. An amazing artifact that truly shows the horrors of war.
