Very nice and unique M38 paratrooper single decal spanner bolt helmet grouping. A unique group that has it all. A very important US Division, picked up during the Battle of the Bulge, and mailed home in its original box! Group was recently found in New York this past month and is fresh to the market. The group consists of the helmet, cloth paratrooper badge, maps, surrender leaflet, and various small US/German paper work. The helmet is a former whitewash « ET68 » helmet with a lot number of « 5029 ». Exterior is in wonderful shape, matte and untouched with remnants of whitewash just visible. Decal is over 95% with the slightest of loss. Liner and chinstrap assembly is present and completely undisturbed. Liner is stamped with size and maker « Karl Heisler ». Chinstraps show some use and wear but overall and solid. All bolts tight and secure, some remnants along the rim of the white paint and on the small section of the chinstraps. Liner is also named to the solider and rank but illegible. The helmet and its contents were mailed home by a a corporal in the combat engineers of the 296th which played an important role during the campaign. They show plenty of action during those two important months and were in many locations including Chiny, Florenville, Sedan, Neuchâteau, Sourbrodt, Eupen, Trois-Ponts, Verviers, Malmedy.
