Description

A very nice and rare German M1940 Heer single decal combat helmet with issued carrier strap. The helmet is an « NS62 » with a lot number of « D1810 ». The helmet's exterior remains in its natural untouched state. The factory paint finish rates in well over 95%. A normal amount of scuffs and scrapes are present. The Heer decal shows nice toning and wear from being covered by the carrier strap. Extra wear around the swastika is noticeable and possibly removed a long time ago. The split pins are intact, tightly attached and complete. The helmet features a very desirable period factory manufactured example. Made from a thick heavy duty brown leather. Featuring classic hardware to include the steel attachment hook and steel roller buckle. The helmet clip features a fixed and riveted leather covered aluminum clip. These would have been used either for armored vehicle personnel or even cavalry to secure the helmets in place. A harder to find and describe carrier for any equipment or headgear collector, of the nicer examples we have seen. The helmet's interior is complete and untouched. Leather liner is very nice condition and retains a natural light brown color. Drawstring is present and the liner is ink stamped for size along one of the tongues « 55 ». Chinstrap is complete and fully intact. Some dust and debris has accumulated along the liner band and left like that. A very nice and desirable set that retains its carrier strap. Overall a very nice and classic untouched German Heer combat helmet.
