Description
Stunning M1940 Heer single decal tropical « DAK » camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is a « NS66 » with lot number « DN29 ». The exterior retains a very nice and rating in at 90% tropical tan spray applied camouflage finish. Normal scuffs, craps and combat wear throughout the entire helmet. Retains its original and undisturbed split pins with the majority of their finish remaining intact. Decal is visible underneath the finish and rates in at approximately 70%. The interior of the helmet is untouched and undisturbed, retaining the original drawstring and leather chinstrap. Leather in good supple shape. Nice size ink stamped on liner « 59 ». The original Very nice wear with soil and debris along the rim and liner band. The helmet is named and possibly unit marked in pencil on the leather liner. Definitely worth of further research. The camouflage paint finish is the type that was used in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations to include North Africa. A choice and great one looker « DAK » camouflage helmet with period combat wear. Scarce.
