Description
A stunning M1940 Heer two-tone brush painted bailing wire camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is a late-war skirt marked « Q62 » with a lot number of « 335 ». This helmet was found many years ago in the Werbomont area in the Belgian Ardennes. The helmet's exterior features a heavy brush applied two-tone finish. Thinner type wire is mounted and drilled through the shell to add a very secure amount of camouflage if desirable. The two-tone application consists of green and dark brown. In the detailed photos below evidence of paint on the wire and natural oxidation is nicely present. Split-pins intact, tightly secured and retain their camouflage finish. The interior is complete with a full liner system. Nice condition leather still remains and drawstring still present. Full leather chinstrap is complete and present.
