Description
Superb M40 Kriegsmarine tropical officers field cap. Factory produced model with officers pipping. Constructed by well known firm « Hermann Potthoff Coesfeld ». Tan colored ribbed cotton material in excellent shape. Showing minimal use throughout. The original « BeVo » tropical eagle and cockade are nicely factory machine stitched. Air vents are in excellent condition without oxidation. Interior is in the same condition as the exterior. The lining is ink stamped with the maker’s logo « hpc » and the size « 56 », the date « 42 ». The rear vertical seam was taken in somewhat by hand to improve its fit. Choice example of an officers field cap and rarely offer on the market.
