M40 Luftwaffe Paratrooper green step-in smock
Description
Extremely rare M1940 Model Luftwaffe Paratrooper Green Step-In Smock. The pinnacle piece of any Paratrooper or Luftwaffe Collection. This smock was purchased original by a well-know dealer in Germany early 2000's direct from the family, along with the soldiers complete paper work and cuff titles offered separately. « Herbert Liebetruth » saw action in Kreta, in Afrika with Ramcke brigade, Russland, and Normandy veteran. Overall the smock is in very nice condition. Its a real field used smock and has seen usage in the front lines. A nice early pattern blue wool factory sewn eagle on the chest. This is the first time we have seen this application but a second example has been verified. The zippers are functional and marked « Rapid », one has been period replaced. The snaps are marked by the typical and textbook firm of « PRYM ». Internal wind cuffs present and all snaps present. One snap along the right leg is loose and has come off but present and could be restored. Some soiling and staining is present, along the mid section and around the collar. The back of the smock has two period field repairs that were nicely done. The interior is in good shape. Maker marked by a known firm « SCHULTZ BERLIN » , size is a nice larger size of « Gr. IIB » and nicely early dated production of « 8 / 41 ». The smock is in the condition it was purchased from the veteran family.
