Description

Very nice M1940 Luftwaffe three-tone sand camouflage combat helmet. Helmet is an « ET66 » with a lot number of « 5036 ». Exterior features a nice application of three colors with a mixture of sand all brush applied and painted camouflage pattern. They consists of two shades of green and one shade of tan. The helmets exterior shows some wear but overall in very nice condition. Some scarps along the front, scuffs in scattered places and edge wear around the rim. The Luftwaffe decal is visible underneath the camouflage finish with some flaking and paint loose on the surface. The helmets interior remains untouched and in its original state. The leather liner is complete, untouched and retains its chinstrap. The leather is supple and retains its nice brown coloring. Drawstring intact, nicely ink stamped 58 and named to a « Lt. Uhrig ». The chinstrap is in pig skin leather, it is complete and nicely maker marked and dated « Wilhelm Eilers Jr. Bielefeld 1941 ». A great helmet that can be classified as a Luftwaffe ground forces helmet and would display nicely with a camouflage ground jacket. Desirable and with nice subtle colors.
