M40 Waffen-SS single decal combat helmet, « woodwork find / untouched »
Description
A very nice M1940 Waffen-SS single decal combat helmet. The helmet is an « ET66 » with a lot number of « 370 ». The helmet's exterior is dusty, oxidation nicely all over yet remains in its untouched natural state, as found. Only recently sourced out of the woodwork in East of Belgium (Eupen area). Retaining over 75% of its factory applied matte feldgrau finish. The « ET » pattern Waffen-SS decal is present at rates well over 90%. Split pins are present, complete and tightly secured to the helmet. They still retain most of their painted finish. The helmet's interior is untouched and in as-found condition. The leather liner is in very good and supple condition. The drawstring is absent but the original chinstrap in natural brown leather is present and maker marked. Natural material and dust are present along the liner band. Overall a very hard to find untouched Waffen-SS combat helmet. A true time capsule!
