M42 German Heer combat helmet, « untouched / as-found »
Description
A superb M1942 German Heer single decal combat helmet. Helmet is an « ET64 » with a lot number of « 1788 ». The helmet's exterior is really untouched, uncleaned and in as-found condition. It retains the majority of its factory spray applied feldgrau finish. Some oxidation and storage handling marks. Overall looks to have been resting in a barn. The helmet retains its Heer decal which is present underneath a small painted over area in dark feldgrau paint matching the factory paint. This can be seen in the detailed photos below. Interior is matching the exterior and remains in as-found condition. Liner is in good condition with some wear. Chinstrap is period attached and has a nice feature of a rivet instead of the classic aluminum toggle on one end of the strap. Dome stamp is present and complete. Plenty of dirt, debris and natural accumulation around the liner. Just void of a drawstring. A true combat helmet in untouched as-found condition.
