Superb M1942 Luftwaffe 3-tone Normandy camouflage spray helmet. The helmet is a nice larger size « ET66 » with a lot number of « 9 ». The helmet retains almost 92% of its original spray applied camouflage finish. It retains overall excellent contrasting colors with an untouched matte look. Normal wear, scuffs and abrasions are present. The split pins are fully intact with remnants of the camouflage finish. The mostly tan paint has adhered well with a faint outline of the Luftwaffe decal underneath. The interior of the helmet is complete, untouched and its original state. The skirt is nicely spray tan painted also with some prayed on the liner band and leather liner itself as well as some splatter along the dome. A nice feature that is not found too often on camouflage helmets. The leather of the liner is still supple and complete with some minor flaking around the rim. The liner is ink stamped for size but unreadable. It is also marked in ink with one of the former owner's name. This is the same name that is nicely scratched on the helmets exterior. A secondary name, probably the name of the GI that brought it back is written along the skirt in ink. Original Chinstrap and drawstring are present and in very nice condition with gentle use. A really nice untouched vibrant spray camouflage helmet. Choice top shelf camouflage helmet.
