M42 three-tone sawdust textured camouflage combat helmet, « Tiger Stripe »

Description
An exceptional M1942 three-tone « TIGER STRIPE » sawdust textured camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is an « EF66 » with an unreadable lot number. The helmet's exterior features the largest sawdust textured camouflage finish we have seen. The helmet was first painted in a yellow sawdust mixture with a second application of green and brown camouflage paints. Rating in over 98% of its finish with good combat use. Top of the helmet shows actual wear to include scuffs and scraps. Some paint loss around the rim. Very strong and really sharp contrasting colors gives this helmet one of the nicest looks. The split pins are complete, tightly attached to the helmet and retain their camouflage finish. A decal is under the camouflage paint and some silver areas can be seen where there are some chips in the camouflage. The helmet's interior is complete yet remains in untouched/undisturbed condition. Leather liner is the rarer pig skin variety commonly associated with late helmets. Ink stamped for size along the tip of the leather tongue « 58 ». The rank and name of the soldier are also present on the leather but unreadable. Some staining from wear is present and some minimal chafing along the rim. Drawstring is complete and present. Leather chinstrap is complete and maker marked/dated « G.SINGER KLATTAU 1942 ». Helmet was recently sourced out of the woodwork in Germany. Truly a top shelf camouflage combat helmet and one of the more striking examples we have been able to acquire over the years.
