M42 Waffen-SS blurred edge camouflage smock
Description
M42 Waffen-SS camouflage smock. Produced in the pattern referred to as « Blurred Edge » in a smooth linen based cotton material. Both sides exhibit nice strong colors. Pocket flaps and cuffs are made from « Plane Tree » and « Oakleaf » camouflage material. The camouflage loops are present with a few showing to have been replaced by the collector, several stitchings were restored. The neck area was period sewn to have a smaller diameter but has been opened with evidence of a fold-over method, having vented underarms. One nice misprint running vertical along the back and the front is also evident. Hand-embroided eyelets for the drawstring, one eyelet is missing, factory error. Overall a nice condition and rare pattern smock that has survived nicely with minimal small conservations.
