M42 Waffen-SS combat helmet
Description
A very nice M1942 Waffen-SS German combat helmet. The helmet’s markings are not visible but the helmet is a most probably a « EF64 ». The helmet came out of the factory with a Waffen-SS decal before being repainted on the field with a matte lightly textured paint covering the decal. The helmet's exterior is in overall very nice condition. A nice and pleasing amount of wear to include some light scuffs, scratches and oxidation. With an overall feldgrau paint of over 94%. Split-pins are intact and tightly secured to the liner. The helmet's interior is untouched and undisturbed. Retains a nice light brown leather liner. Ink stamped for size « 56 » along the tongue. Plenty of debris and natural accumulation along the liner band and helmet. Stretched along the back with the former owners name « Oskar Postweiler ». Drawstring present. Chinstrap is original to the helmet, shows some oxidation from prolonged storage and slightly period shortened along the tip. A very nice late-war German Waffen-SS combat helmet that talks to you.
