Description

British issued combat binoculars captured and repurposed by German troops. The set was probably either captured during or shortly after the evacuation of Dunkirk and camouflage by the occupying German forces. The set consists of a nice three color spray in the colors of green, tan, and brick red. The set is marked for optical power, serial number and maker visible underneath the camouflage finish. The set is also nicely marked in two spots with the British broad arrow. The set retains its original neck strap present and supple. The binoculars show use but remain in their original untouched and undisturbed state. A nice matte finish overall. The original leather storage case is complete with its carrying strap but broken in two areas. It retains the majority of its camouflage finish in vivid and contrasting colors. Normal paint loose and flaking in several areas as what a combat used piece should look like. An extremely rare and unique set that rarely if ever comes to market. This set is published in the book « Tarnfarben, Volume 2 » by Oliver Lock.
