Rare issued German Heer/Waffen-SS winter camouflage smock, « Schneemantel »
Description
A very rare and issued German Heer/Waffen-SS winter camouflage smock. A factory produced set from a higher quality white rayon/cotton blend material. Multipiece and section construction. Really intricate design to include neck closure strap and front lid helmet hook to be fastened into place. The smock retains all its original pebbled white painted buttons attached via « S » hooks and factory stitching on the arms. The smock is also marked in the same position on the upper left opening in the classic purple hue ink with the size and date « H44 ». A scarce and very desirable example that saw use on both fronts including the « Battle of the Bulge ». In mint unissued condition with no rips, tears or major staining.
