Rare M40 German Heer single decal netted combat helmet, « untouched / as-found »
Description
A superb and rare M1940 German single decal combat helmet with his period-applied issued camouflage net. It comes from Eastern France. The helmet is a « ET62 » with a lot number of « 1274 ». The helmet's exterior is in very nice untouched condition. Some light scuffs and storage marks are present. The factory paint otherwise remains matte to the feel and its feldgrau color is still nicely all intact. The split pins are as well intact, complete and tightly secured. The Heer decal is 95% present. The helmet has received a period application of an issued camouflage net. In the detailed photos below evidence of the helmet and net being together is clear. Some dust, dirt and debris is present around the liner band. All matching and remain tightly secured. Liner is in very good condition, ink stamped « 55 » for size and drawstring fully intact and still tied together. Chinstrap is complete, maker marked and dated « dla41 ». A nice mid-war German combat helmet with one of the hardest configuration to find. A choice set!
