Rare M42 Heer combat medics helmet, « NS62 »

Description
An exceptional and textbook Heer combat medics helmet. The helmet is a late « NS62 » with a lot number of « B10 ». The helmet's exterior features a textbook example of a combat medic helmet. White hand applied brush painted. In the detailed photos below the brush strokes are evident. Crazing and drips along the split pins of the paint are present. The red cross was applied by hand brush painted as well. Excellent detail. Toning, dirt and normal field wear are present. This is seen easier on the white paint. Normal and proper rim wear is present. Split pins tightly attached and in place. Paint loss and minor oxidation along the top is also present. The helmet's interior is untouched and it its original state. Of interesting note is that the helmet is named to a Doctor in black paint along the skirt. A rather unique feature. Late-war pig skin leather liner is untouched but in rather good condition, ink stamped for size « 55 ». Drawstring and chinstrap are absent. Some dust, dirt and natural debris accumulation along the liner band is present. Dome stamp also present. A true untouched and only recently found example in the US. The name of the US soldier who picked it up on the field as a war trophy is written in pencil on the back of the helmet. Several helmets with the exact same configuration are known in the collection. Rare helmet and still remaining one of the rarest to find offers on the public market.
