Description

This is an unique M1942 Kriegsmarine sand camouflage three-tone brush painted combat helmet. The helmet is an « ckl66 » with a lot umber of « 3264 ». The helmets exterior retains a truly unique and superb hand applied camouflage finish. Sand in combination with three main colors of green, brown and tan paint mixed in give this helmet a unique look. One of the most striking camouflage helmets we have had the pleasure of offering. This is another type of camouflage finish that can be attributed to the costal artillery units stationed in France along the « Atlantic Wall ». Normal to light wear with typical scuffs, scraps and paint loss seen on sand camouflage helmets. Proper rim wear. All split pins present with the majority of their finish remaining intact. Kriegsmarine decal can be seen under the camouflage application. The helmets interior is complete, untouched and undisturbed. Leather liner is present, supple and complete with its drawstring. Size stamped in ink on the tongue. Leather chinstrap in place, complete and functional. Maker is not present. The liner has a period applied metal loop for attachment to a service belt or to be hung.The helmet was sourced out of the woodwork from a close colleague in the 1990's original from Lynn, Massachusetts USA from the veteran himself. A beautiful and truly top shelf camouflage helmet that rarely makes it to the open market.
