Description

Rare M1942 Waffen-SS sawdust textured camouflage combat helmet. The helmet is a « ckl66 » with the lot number « 2685 ». The helmet's exterior retains over 75% of a period medium sawdust based red brown combat finish that is applied by hand. Normal to light amounts of scuffs and scraps. Split pins are intact and retain the vast majority of the same textured finish. They are secured to the helmet. The classic « ET » Waffen-SS decal is present under the camouflage and partially visible. The helmet's interior remains complete and in overall good worn condition. Leather liner is supple, ink stamped along the end of one of the tongues for size « 58 ». Original drawstring and leather chinstrap are present, this one is nicely marked with the « RBNr ». The two runes as well as the soldier's name are written on the leather « PARADIEZ ». Camouflaged Waffen-SS helmets are extremely rare and are never offered on the market. A nice example with a very pleasing and attractive look.
