Rare set of early German paratrooper grenade bags
Description
Luftwaffe paratrooper first issue grenade bags. Constructed of a blue colored light in weight, thin, and fragile linen material. The earliest factory produced pair that has a unique feature with its heavy weave tan cotton connecting straps. This material is seen on other earlier field equipment such as the first type bandoleers. Overall condition is well worn showing some damages on the bags. Original and fully functional zippers made by « PRYM ». Examples of this type has been seen in the Eastern Front and the Normandy Invasion. A very rare set of issued grenade bags. The set was recovered in the center of the Netherlands.
