A US M2 « D-Bale » paratrooper jump helmet for 2nd Lieutenant « Hanak ». The helmet is a factory made USM2 « D-Bale », the lot number is not visible. The helmet's exterior features almost complete factory applied OD green finish. Period 2nd Lieutenant's bar painted along the front. The factory bales are complete and intact. The original web chin straps are in place and in excellent condition with no issues. A very high condition « D-Bale » helmet. It comes complete with its original untouched standard USM1 liner. The helmet liner was found with the original helmet and sourced only recently out of the woodwork untouched. The helmet liner is manufactured by « FIRESTONE » and complete. Early sweatband in place and still retains a set of paperclips to retain the back band intact. Chinstrap is present and complete with early OD green buckle. It is nicely named to the former owner « HANAK / 32226133 » of « CO. "I", 1st P.T.R. ». A rarely encountered and seldom ever seen Regiment worthy of further research.
