Description
USAAF flight instructor grouping named to CHARLES BRAUTIGAM Jr. Complete with a training panel removed from the aircraft depicting a classic hand painted image, extremely well executed of a traveling Hobo (Man on the road and homeless), size 40x35cm. Certificate for a private pilots ground course is present. The patch is an extremely rare circa 1943 United States Army Air Force Training Program 337th College Training Detachment Flight Instructor jacket patch. The unit was based out at Clarion State Teacher’s College in Clarion, Pennsylvania. The center of the patch features a white duck with yellow wings wearing a black top hat and along the top it reads: « 337th C. T. D. » and along the bottom: « FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ». The patch is made of multi-piece felt with a chain stitch. Grouping was found several years ago and bought from the family.
