Description

Superb M1935 Heer single decal reissued German combat helmet. The helmet is an « ET66 » with a lot number « 2722 ». This is a depot reissued piece with as much of a high paint and decal rating we have encountered. The exterior shows the slightest of wear to its matte almost chalky textured feldgrau grey paint. It rates at approximately 98%. The factory applied Heer decal is 99% present with one slight abrasion along the swastika. All split pins are present, tightly secured and retain almost all of their reissue paint. Evidence which includes crazing can be seen where the national tri-color shield was present. In the detailed photos below evidence of the light brush strokes used to paint the helmet and around the decal are evident. The helmet's interior is untouched and in mint unissued condition. It features a very early single band liner. Crisply stamped into the leather with the maker and size. Drawstring is mint and untied. Liner is crisply stamped in black ink with the size « 59 ». The helmet features a rarely seen feature being a reissue helmet it is also stamped in a white paint « 59 » for size. Crisp and complete ink dome stamp is present. Mint unissued maker marked and the helmet's original blackened leather chinstrap is still attached. This particular helmet and its variation is the nicest we have seen and been able to offer. Choice even for the most discerning collector.
