Unissued mid-war German k98 blue canvas receiver cover, « jgh1942 »
Description
A superb German k98 receiver cover. Made from a heavy blue colored material. Cover is complete with all natural brown leather closures and with all studs present. Stitching is intact and complete. Interior is also complete with natural felt dust edge. It is marked with the maker’s code, the date « jgh1942 » and the Waffenamt on the leather, also white ink stamped with the weapon’s designation « Mod. 98 » on the canvas. In excellent unissued condition. What looks like staining is from the manufacturer of the blue canvas material. This is seen on other various piece of field equipment. A desirable variant missing from most weapons or field equipment collectors.
