Description

A WWII US  issued « T » shovel. Period and unquestionably rigger modified and shortened. Common at the time with airborne troops of the 101st and 82nd Airborne Division. This example remains in untouched and as found condition. The shovel was found in the Ardennes town of Trois-Ponts in Belgium, most likely used by units of the 82nd Airborne who fought in the area. Shovel retains some of its period green camouflage finish. Stamped into the metal U.S. Rivets show no evidence of tampering and remain as found. Light to moderate oxidation along the tip is present. In overall very good condition. Missing from most airborne collectors and truly a very desirable item. Choice offering.
