US Army issued baseball catcher's mask

WWII U.S. Army issued baseball catcher's mask. Textbook made late-war example from a steel metal cage and heavy leather padding for face protection. Made by the other famous sports equipment manufacture during the war and even today « SPALDING ». Leather strap and adjustable buckle are fully functional. The mask is named to the former owner along the back head strap to a « JOHN JENNINGS ». The steel caging is painted in a dark blue with some paint transferring to the leather. A practice done for special games, team colors, or personal choice. Overall one of the more difficult pieces of U.S. Army sports equipment to find and highly collectible in their own right.
