WWII U.S. Army issued baseball catcher's mask. Textbook made late-war example from a steel metal cage and heavy leather padding for face protection. Made by the other famous sports equipment manufacture during the war and even today « SPALDING ». Leather strap and adjustable buckle are fully functional. The mask is named to the former owner along the back head strap to a « JOHN JENNINGS ». The steel caging is painted in a dark blue with some paint transferring to the leather.
