US Army Softball Bat
Description
Authentic US Army wooden softball bat from World War II. These bats were distributed to American soldiers by the Special Services (welfare and recreation branch) to maintain troop morale and physical fitness across various theaters of operations. Solid wood construction produced by « Hillerich & Bradsby Co. », the famous manufacturer of Louisville Slugger bats. Central marking inside an oval logo reading « H&B / No. 52 / LOUISVILLE, KY. » is perfectly legible. Issue marking stamped on the top of the bat: « U.S. ARMY / SOFT BALL ». A genuine piece of American military sports history.
