Description
A period U.S. B-2 USAAF (United States Army Air Forces) flying cap winter. Period construction from a soft and light leather lined in wool. Very nice condition with minimal wear. Some stress marks along the bill. Example retains its period cloth makers and designation tag along the back. Includes type, sized in a « 7 1/4 » , « WEBER SPORTSWEAR CO / NEWBURGH, NY. ». The cap has been nicely personalized with the addition of the former owner's name along the front lower section. Nicely painted in a bright yellow oil paint « LT W.R. LOEHR ». Overall condition is very good and would display lovely. A harder to find piece of iconic USAAF headgear!
