US invasion armband, « oil cloth / personalized »

A period issued and used example of the famous US invasion armband. This example is the textbook variety and manufactured on a printed oil cloth material. Water repellent and resistant it served as easy recognition and identification for the US Forces. These were famously used by airborne and glider pilots throughout North Africa, Normandy, Holland and Italy. This particular example written at the time with the name, locations and dates of use is extremely unique. Although not easily readable it shows several dates and locations. With some simpler research some more light can be shead and maybe identify the unit. A really nice and unique piece of history.
