Description

A standard issue early US M41 field jacket. The jacket is in overall very nice slightly used condition. Retaining its full and functional zipper manufactured by « CONMAR ». Buttons are all intact and factory sewn. The jacket is marked to the former soldier along the zipper « M.A BARFIELD / 145 ». The jacket features a unique period hand painted application of USAAF service wings with a foldable yellow chair in the center. Some speculation as to what this unit was and its purpose was during the « ETO » campaign still remains a mystery. Could very well be a very small and unique group or an unofficial « Chairborne » wings made with a sense of humor for armchair pilots. The jacket was sourced out of the woodwork in Central France many years ago. In overall very nice and highly collectible condition.
