US M42 paratroopers lieutenant's jump jacket, « 101st Airborne »
Description
A period US Airborne jump jacket for a Lieutenant of the 101st Airborne Division. Made from a classic « OD » khaki cotton twill material. The jacket retains all its zippers made by « CONMAR » and « PRENTICE ». Both are fully functional. Snaps are all present and functional but show actual wear and combat use along with some light oxidation. The jump jacket still retains its original waist belt. No signs of the washed out tag present. Period hand sewn 101st Airborne tab on the upper left hand sleeve. Removed name tag and period painted yellow Lieutenants shoulder bars present. Making this a very interesting and rarely encountered jump jacket. Overall condition is very good yet shows some nice wear. A very rare jump jacket to one of the most famous divisions involved in the Normandy invasion / D-Day. This jacket was acquired around twenty years ago in the USA from an estate sale. Choice.
