US M9A2 « paracaisson », Howitzer ammo container
Description
This is a very rare US M9A2 « paracaisson ». It is part of the 75mm Howitzer pack designed to be parachuted. It is a container for dropping equipment from an airplane by parachute used for howitzer M1A1. It is a self contained hand car used to deliver and transport ammunition for the gun. The axle, tongue, handle and wheel units all fit inside the body along with 8 rounds of ammunition. After parachute delivery and assembly in handcart configuration, its purpose was manually a load of 18 rounds of ammunition. Weight (cart only) 60 kgs. It is in excellent condition, retaining over 95% of the green factory paint and markings. Complete set with the original tires.
