USAAF Anti-G flight suit, Type G-2, named
Description
Very rare USAAF Anti-G pneumatic flight suit, Type G-2, for fighter pilots. It is complete and in excellent condition a, all the zippers are functional, marked « TALON ». Its original label is present, size « Large Short ». The flexible rubber hose circuit is complete, the external hose is present. Named to Lt. RIMMERMAN. 3500 examples were delivered to the 8th and 9th Air Force, but after many criticisms from the fighter pilots, especially by its weight (2.25kg), excessive sweating and the lack of pockets, it will be replaced in August 1944 by the type G-3. This is probably one of the rarest piece of the US Air Force, and extremely difficult ton find in this excellent condition.
