A stunning period US issued helmet liner for a 2nd Lieutenant in the Fourth Infantry Division (IVY DIVISION). Manufactured by Westinghouse. Untouched exterior featuring a correct light green « IVY » fourth division unit insignia along the front with rank. In the detailed photos below and desirable by the collecting community is the ghosting of the early fourth division insignia overpainted. Interior shows use and combat wear, original leather chinstrap is present but fragilizd. The division saw combat on D-Day in Normandy France and is one of the most recognizable division of World War Two. A choice and very desirable piece of headgear that was only recently found out the woodwork.
