Description

A period USM1 Captain's ranked front seam fixed bale combat helmet set. The shell retains over 95% of its war time hand applied secondary coat in a classic OD green finish. Stainless steel band shows some wear with paint loss present. Overall minimal scuffs and scraps present. The shell retains its factory applied and still tightly secured khaki web chinstraps. They retain their wartime blackened steel hardware. Period soldered sterling silver captain's rank permanently and tightly still secured. Vertical « ETO - Follow Me » stripe period painted on the back of the helmet, it has been stripped of the last coat of paint and is still 70% visible. Shell is stamped « 635B » along the interior front. Evidence of use is present on the inside with some light water or moisture stains. The helmet retains its matching helmet liner. Manufactured by « WESTINGHOUSE ». It retains over 98% of its OD green matte finish. Period hand painted white painted Captain's bar along the front. The interior shows some use but remains complete. Leather chinstrap is present, shows honest wear with a slight small rip yet complete and functions. Manufactured by « UNITED CARR » and stamped on the reverse. Overall a complete and matching true Captain's ranked helmet with a desirable « ETO » stripe. A very nice example!
