USM1 front seam fixed bale, « pacific theater of operations »
Description
A very nice and complete USM1 front seam fixed bale combat helmet with a unit emblem for the « Pacific Theater of Operations / PTO ». The helmet's exterior is in very nice untouched condition. It shows some moderate wear but retains well over 90% of its matte factory paint and finish. Some moderate wear around the rim is present as well. The shell retains its choice early khaki colored web and factory applied chin straps that retain early brass hardware. The emblem is made from medical tape that has been cut and pasted on the back of the helmet. The interior of the shell is untouched and contains ink stamped markings. The include « Company E, 31st… » and is worthy of further research. The helmet liner manufactured by « WESTINGHOUSE » remains untouched and undisturbed. Dust and dirty with a normal amount of wear is present. Leather chinstrap is absent. The liner's exterior is marked along the front and back with the number « 77 ». A really nice untouched and choice set.
