USM1 identified 4th Infantry Division fixed bale helmet, « IVY DIVISION »
Description
A superb and rare USM1 fixed bale front seam 4th Infantry Division helmet. The helmet features the 4th Infantry Division unit emblem spray painted in green along the front, the green of the insignia practically blends with the paint of the helmet. Underneath is the rank of « T/5 » also spray painted in white paint. The helmet is identified and named to « Stanley Wisniewski » of « A Company / 22nd Infantry Regiment ». This unit has taken part and landed on Utah Beach during the D-DAY Invasion in Normandy, France and all other main battles in the ETO including the Battle of the Bulge and into Germany. The helmet retains over 95% of its factory applied finish. Some small areas of scuffs and scraps are present along the rim. The chinstraps are complete, secure and retains their early hardware. Some camouflage paint on the web and a partial serial number is present as well. The liner of the helmet set is complete and untouched. The liner's exterior shows the former owner name along the front in white paint. One small crack along the back is present. The interior is well-lived in. Staining, soiling and natural use is present. The sweatband shows plenty of use and some separation has occurred. The liner is also marked in white paint in the interior with his serial number « W-4563 ». Overall a choice matching and identified US Infantry Divisional helmet that was involved in the history battle campaigns of the ETO.
