USM1 Navy helmet

Description
Very nice WWII USM1 Navy helmet. A fixed bale front seam helmet. Helmet retains its original web straps that are factory applied. The exterior features the typical US Navy blue paint and the addition of a hand paint First Class Carpenters Mate insignia. The insignia is painted with detail with three basic colors. The helmet is also named and serial numbered « C.J. BLANEY 258-14-86 ». Complete with its original « Westinghouse » liner. The liner shows soiling and use. The chinstrap is present but broken. A very obscure and desirable helmet to a lesser known branch of the U.S. Navy. The helmet was very recently acquired out of the woodwork.
