USN / USMC leather field shoes, « 1942 »
Description
A choice pair of USN / USMC leather field service shoes. Made from a smooth brown natural leather. Shoes are maker marked « A. FREEDMAN & SONS. INC », size marked in a desirable « 9 1/2 E ». Most importantly a clear and readable date of « SEPT. 1942 » is present. Interior is also stamped with the former sailors name and marked U.S.N. Complete with brown enamel eyeltets. Exterior only initialed with the maker « A.S. ». Come also complete with matching period laces. Soles are composite type and maker marked « PANCO ». Stitching remains complete and in unissued condition. A choice and very rare type of U.S.N. leather field shoes.
