Description

Very rare early MP38u40 six pocket paratrooper carrying Pouch. This type was the one specifically made early in the war for paratroopers before the standard types were made and issued to other branches (Armored Crews). Constructed from an early heavy green cotton fabric material. Brown leather front closure, early type of white « HBT » belt loops. Riveted cell dividers have ben removed, in very good overall condition. Included with the pouch is the correct type of carrying strap made of the same material and featuring the early type of attachment hooks. Strap is in very good condition as well. This type of early MP38u40 has recently been the subject of a study in the latest book on German parachutist equipment by Karl Veltzé (German Paratroopers - Uniforms and Equipment 1936 -1945. Volume 2: Helmets, Equipment and Weapon). First time offered on the market, of extreme rarity and desirability. Top piece of early fieldgear for any collector!
