A superb and very rare late-war German camouflaged mess kit. Aluminum construction. Maker marked and dated « OHW44 » along the front and properly along the side clasp. The mess kit has been camouflaged in a late war tan spray. The paint rates high in the 98% and shows a very nice untouched matte finish. This specific color has been seen on helmets and gas mask canisters. One of the rarest camouflage pieces of fieldgear to find. Choice example and very desirable in today's collectors market.
