Waffen-SS M42 oak leaf camouflage smock
Description
A very nice late-war Waffen-SS M42 camouflage service smock. Produced in a pattern referred to as « OAK LEAF B » and constructed from a printed smooth linen based cotton material. Both spring and fall sides are printed and exhibit near fresh, strong and contrasting colors. At least three types of material used in the construction of this smock which include: « Oak Leaf B », green standard « HBT » and Oak Leaf « HBT » materials. The smock retains its original factory applied camouflage foliage loops on both sides. Made from a mixture of scrap camouflage materials to include standard and « HBT ». Neck is nicely lined in a dark green « HBT » material. Both intact buttons along the pockets are present and interiors are lined in classic « HBT » material of two tones as well. Smock has two small repairs as can be clearly seen in the detailed photos below. Eyelets for the drawstring are machine circular sewn and correct for this vintage smock. Elastics remain present on both the cuffs/waist areas and have been re-affixed at some point. The smock is in overall very nice and excellent condition. These are extremely popular in today's collectors market and in high demand. A harder to find variant !
