A true period standard issue Waffen-SS panzer EM/NCO overseas cap that has been field upgraded to an officer's cap. Textbook factory made example. Black wool body construction that shows some light period wear. Retains both period hand sewn « BeVo » skull and eagle. Of special interest is the type of application known on other untouched examples. A thin metallic officer's piping hand sewn with precision is intact around the perimeter of the cap. Interior is lined in a dark black linen material with slight wear. One of the hardest to find Waffen-SS panzer overseas caps. Originally sourced out of the woodwork in the US several decades ago. Sized in roughly a « 57 ». Choice and highly desirable example.
